"La fotografia non è pura duplicazione o un cronometro dell'occhio che ferma il mondo fisico, ma è un linguaggio nel quale la differenza fra riproduzione e interpretazione, per quanto sottile, esiste e dà luogo a un'infinità di mondi immaginari". [Luigi Ghirri]

  1. hello letizia, i am sorry i'm unable to address you in your native language. i want to let you know how interesting i found your Anime project. in particular, i was surprised to note how the faces began to resemble those of 20C photographic portraiture as a result of the lighting and angles you imposed. the scarred woman's torso startled me the most, perhaps because it was not a face. i like your Ghirri quote (i wonder if i can find his book in english). i have a favourite quote too. it comes from lisette model: "aim to push aside everything except that which says more". thank you for sharing your work here. (btw Google Translate presented me with some amusing word substitutions: i had to think for a minute about what a "belly shot" might be [i assume "from the gut",i.e.instinctual or reflexive]. i was also curious to see what was under the heading "Bed Photography Books", wherein i suspect "bed " relates to an italian word which would be better represented by "foundational". Oh - i should mention that i am not a photographer. i do some art work where i apply colour to early 20th C potraits and marry them to anachronistic texts - a sort of forced metaphor. i use paints, inks & Photoshop. I often wonder what Lightbox does for you - i mean, i know it's a file organizer, but surely it must do something extra? - dan kershaw / toronto
